Given: US Market, LNG/CNG industry, ~200 I/O pt. systems to interface with larger existing systems, 25/75 mix of analog/discrete.
What automation component mfgs/stds. are most commonly used in this space for:
PLC (or is it more PC-based),
Operator Interface (are keypad terminals, touchscreens, or good old hardwired pushbuttons more common),
Motor Controls (IEC or NEMA, starters or Contactor/OL pairs),
Enclosures,
Communications, (DH+, Profibus, DeviceNet, etc)
Software (HMI, Remote monitoring)
I'm leaving a system integrator to develop products and need some generalities to get me going in the right direction in this industry.
