For our Alternator relays we are using 24V DC as auxilary supply. For this we are using rectifier along with batteries. For these we have used 12 batteries of 2V each. My doubt is what is the reason of using 12 2V instead of 2 12V.

 

Electrically there is no difference.

Only difference is you have more external connections with 2V cells.

If there's any electrolyte leakage over time, there's a higher probability of corrosion-related problems, because there's more of external connections that can be affected by corrosion.
