I want to do cable sizing for process control instruments in oil & gas. Can anyone provide the Instrument Cable sizing procedures or criteria?

 

I don't believe there is a procedure it really comes down to site preference. The larger size e.g. 16 gauge may be mechanically stronger but if thats not an issue use a lighter gauge.
Voltage drop is never an issue unless you have some really long loops.
