Can a barcode image on an LCD be read by a scanner?

Is there any way possible for an image of a UPC symbol to be read from a liquid crystal display (eg. PDA) by a scanner?

I don't think that's really possible. The bar code scanner uses a laser to pick up color, but the LCD display has a flicker to it (most of the time faster then we can see), and this would probably cause the scanner to give a "No Read" error. If you try it, let me know! > Is there any way possible for an image of a UPC symbol to be read from a liquid crystal display (eg. PDA) by a scanner? >

Yes you can, if the bar code scanner is a ccd based scanner instead of a laser based scanner. One such model is an Intermec Scanplus 1800sr. I've tried it with a notebook computers active matrix display and a crt, it both cases it worked.
