We have about 3 HMIs running Cimplicity in which the Event Logger has stopped working. I don't think they all stopped working at the same time. On one HMI the SQL server is stopping when you try to enable it. It shows running briefly then immediately stops.

On another HMI it says that the SQL installation is either corrupt or missing. I know its not misssing because the SQL icon is showing in the system tray.

When checking the configuration on these HMIs in the ODBC configuration (control panel), everything looks okay and I know they worked at some point.

 

The best solution might be to de- and reinstall Cimplicity and the SQL server. After Deinstall, manually clear the ODBC connections.

Also install a SQL Studio management tool(Express available for free download).

I had a similar problem when I renamed the PC name once...
