dear friends
i am trying to export my variable tags from citect to a csv file but whenever i do this i get an error message:
title: unable to export tags
body: Could not open the external database.

check to make sure that the external database is notin use by another application and try again

i am using citect version 6.0.220

please need your help!!!

 

Same thing is happening with our Version 6.10.183, it's probably an Undocumented Feature of the Software (i.e. bug).

Will it work when the runtime is not running? The file may be open on a running system and can't be exported while in use. Just a guess, but with Citect you never know.

I just had the same problem, and in my case, the cause was that Citect doesn't create the file if it doesn't already exist. Create an empty .csv file and then export into it, and it should work.

 

Can you please explain more. I am also having same problem. I tried it. How to create empty csv?
