My application is such that the prox switch and shaft mounted timing star are just not working well due to a harsh environment. The machine's drive motor runs from an Allen Bradley 1336+. It sure would be nice if I could use that 1336 to strobe the shift registers that are part of the control logic. Has anyone had any luck with this type of thing?

 

If you need feedback from your machinery you might consider placing an encoder on the output shaft of your gearbox/motor.
