Cobots

My facility will soon introduce "cobots" - collaborative robots. (Robots without fences.) I've never seen them in action. I'm curious as to how they have been received, both from an application/installation point of view and from people who work beside them.

I've only went to a demo on one of the brands and the jist of it is that they are slow (for safety), lightweight (for safety), and not very accurate as a result.

I've heard they are good when you have something like a CNC machine that needs to be auto loaded but you may not want to guard it all up so that humans can still get in there. Most CNC workholding solutions can tolerate 0.003-0.004" (0.075-0.100mm) of positional error so the inaccuracy here isn't a big deal.

If I may ask, what is this application you are involved with?
