Is there anyone who helps me understand what combustor shell pressure is in a gas turbine? Is it simply the pressure of combustor inside when commbustion is made? Thank you in advance.

Hi - I'll take a stab:

Not all the air required for combustion goes through the combustion chamber itself, some of it goes around where the fuel is injected to be remixed downstream.

These outer pathways are inside the combustor shell.

The amount of air mixed in with the flame will effect NOx and CO generation and ultimately exhaust emissions as well.

I found some good information in a DOE paper:

Hope that helps.
