Communicate from Allen Bradley CIP to modbus TCP

Hi all,

I haven't much experience with Allen Bradley, so I'm wondering wow to communicate between an Allen Bradley with CIP and a PLC with modbus TCP (or modbus serial, if required).

Do we need a converter module, or can the Allen Bradley communicate directly, over ethernet?

Thanks in advance,

Richard

AB PLCs do not communicate directly via Modbus TCP. However, you can purchase a module from Prosoft to do so.

Check out http://www.prosoft-technology.com for more details. (There are about eight cards. The actual part# will be determined by your AB platform and application.)

Good luck.

Hello Richard,

We manufacture a gateway that will function as an EtherNet/IP IO Server on one end and then function as a Modbus TCP/IP Server on the other. We also support DeviceNet and ControlNet. It will serve as a bridge between the two PLCs. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (773)529-3175 or e-mail me at [email protected].
