DO I need anything other than a stepper motor with a GPIB interface and a cable that connects to a USB port on one end and the GPIB interface on the other end? Somebody mentioned to me in passing that I would need a GPIB controller?
You will need a GPIB interface board for your computer. I just finished a project using a GPIB and I used a board from http://www.measurementcomputing.com
With the supplied libraries and sample code the integration was straight forward and easy to do. I priced several boards and the ones from Measurment Computing were the least expensive.
