Dear sirs:

I am needing to communicate an existing unitelway network of altivar drivers to a Profibus (PLC Siemens (S7-300 CPU 315-2DP). I need to control the drivers from this PLC.

Depending on the actual tele drives you have, they may be able to talk modbus as well as unitelway. In this case take a look at a product from "www.prolinxgateways.com":http://www.prolinxgateways.com that acts as a protocol bridge where each network protocol accesses the same data memory. You could setup the device to read values from the drives and put it in a memory space, write data to the drive from a specific memory space, and then have the plc read and write to these memory spaces. The unit would talk modbus to the drives, and Profibus to the PLC. You only need one bridge for the entire network.
