Comparison B/w MVM194 & ML1400 , which is better for Modbus comm ??

Hi,

i was hoping if some one could help me compare b/w MVM194 & micrologix 1400

I want to communicate with around 50 devices through modbus comm...

i have the choice of using either ML1400 (preferably - As cost effective) or MVM194 (As - performance oriented)

now the dilemma is that MVM194 Cost around 3 times the rate of ML1400. so unless its at least 3 times more efficient, i wont get the worth of my money...

Cost is an important factor for me, but efficiency of the N/W is more important...

Plz help me compare...
