I bought a CP5512 PCMCIA supported communication card about 18 months ago.

But my Old Laptop (with PCMCIA slot) is damaged and beyond recovery. New Laptops in the market does not have PCMCIA slot. I look every where could not find.

1. How could I used this CP5512 Card for PLC programing?

2. Is there any effective PCMCIA-->USB converter? (anyone try this way)

3.Can Windows7 with 64 bits support the CP5512?

Please help me. I need to buy a Laptop soon, waiting for a solution.

That's easy, buy an off-lease laptop with what you need. much cheaper all around and no kludges. You would have to go back many years before a used laptop would be too slow for automation use. And you can have a real serial port or two as well. If you stick to the high end, which is feasible in a used machine, you will probably have a more rugged machine. My main laptop is a Thinkpad T23 which was a $3000 laptop. I got it for a song and there is nothing it wants for in my daily use. Of course, I run Linux. You might need twice the resources to run Windows, but the principle remains the same and you can buy a spare and still come out way ahead.
