I have installed a high speed counter in a SLC-504 rack. The processor will accept the new configuration. Unfortunately when trying to set up ladder logic the hsc option is not available for editing ladder logic. Will I need flex i/o or a micrologix controller to make this work?

 

With the SLC500 and the HSC module the logic required is placed in the normal ladder. Download the manual and go through the examples shown. The micrologix is a different PLC hence the different way to program the high speed counter. Not sure why you mention flex though.

 

SLC 5 based systems, have a processing speed of 0.37ms per bit, this might be a constraint with regard to hsc s.

 

The HSC card does not use the HSC configuration information like the builtin counter does on the micrologix units.
