Connecting a 4-20mAmps transmitter to an indicator

I want to connect a pressure transmitter (PTF-106 of INDUMART) to the indicator model DIS14-D2410 (of INDUMART). The current inputs of the indicator are terminals 6 and 7. But terminals 7 and 8 are intruduced for auxiliary voltage. As I have not found any wiring data for this case I have confused that if the transmitter may be connected to the indicator in a 2-wire loop powered form or it needs an external power supply.

You have a number of potential solutions:

1. You could always ask Indumart ([email protected])I am always curious why people simply don't contact the vendor...

2. You could take a loop calibrator power supply and see if the indicator works.

3. If you're really strapped, you can take a 9 volt battery, a vernier potentiometer of high impedance and a 250 ohm resistor and make a current loop tester.

4. You could take the pressure transmitter and wire it up to the indicator and see what happens.

Your choice.

The simplest way would be to contact Indumart.

With our panel meter - the auxiliary voltage is usually to power up the sender. Depending on the voltage you might need a regulator to bring it down to 10VDC.

If they sold you a pressure transmitter that is 4-20 then there is a good chance the meter is 4-20. I believe only the pressure part of it is loop powered and the panel would send it. So therefore the panel would be 110 and the auxiliary out would not be used.

I think…

I would call Indumart.
