in the olden days connecting to a COM535 using bus paths and a PG-MUX cable (725-0AK0) was easy.

We are now using a CP1430TCP card and I cannot connect to the PLC (not even to the CP) we are using Step 5 v6 and V7...

Do I need extra software? or is there a trick somewhere?

You need COM 1430 TCP to set communication parameters of the CP1430TCP (IP, connections etc)

You will have to use Sinec NCM COM package for programming the CP1430.

 

Yes I do have the software needed to program and parametrize the CP.

Works fine... from a PC via sockets.

What I can't get to work is to connect via our network and the CP to the S5 PLC using paths in S5.
