We have a RAC6182 terminal connected to 1756-ENBT card which sits on a control logix backplane having a 1756-L55 Processor.

We have problem in communicating with the controller. The RAC6182 comes out with 'RSLinx OPC server not running' message on RAC 6182.

Any help is appreciated!

The RAC6182 is a WindowsCE computer from Rockwell Automation. It can run a lot of WindowsCE applications, including some from Rockwell. RSLinxCE is one of those. Another application is trying to use the OPC server in
RSLinx. It's not running, or at least the part that the application is trying to access is not available.

There are a lot of reasons why this might be happening, but you don't give enough information to narrow it down. The missing information starts with what application is generating the error message and grows from there. Is
this a machine that has worked before and has quit working, or is it a new application that has never worked yet? What have you done to investigate RSLinx and its OPC server, and why it isn't running?

I very strongly recommend that you contact Rockwell at 440-646-5800 and work with the tech support folks to resolve this problem.

Hope this helps!

Well, you have to be sure that the RAC has the RSLinx OPC Server installed (usually you can find it in Start\Programs\Rockwell Software\RSLinx\, then you should check if it is running. If it is not installed well, you have to install it. If it is installed but is not running then you have to find the program and start it, it has an option in case you want to run it as a service and make it start every time the machine starts.
