I wanted to understand the feasibility of avionics network AFDX® in industrial automation solutions where networks like EtherCat is used.
Recently I was reading about Micro AFDX which has come up with the capabilities of time trigger, synchronizations for time critical applications and have bandwidth handling capacity of up 100 mbps and can go up to 1 gbps as well.
Hence with the advent of Micro AFDX, can an AFDX network be used in industrial automation as AFDX has lower latency of less then 10 micro seconds unlike EtherCat.
