Has anyone had any experience with control system PID performance supervision such as Expertune Plant Triage, or ControlSoft Performance control Suite? We are looking at purchasing and implementing a software program to optimize PID loop performance. All that I have looked at use OPC Platform and the best ones evaluate all the PID loops in a system and create reports on the worst performing loops and suggest PID changes to correct oscillation or what ever changes necessary to improve the performance of the loop. If you have had any experience with this type of software program let me know your results and any suggestions you may have.

I've seen ControlSoft applications working fine, so I don't want to seem to favor Expertune, but we wrote a "Control Magazine Field Test" of Plant
Triage in 2005. In a "Field Test" a staff editor interviews several end users about what they are using the product for, how they like it, and what
the good news and bad news about the product are.
