Control Valve

Hi All!

I have a flow control valve, which I am finding difficult to mount vertically straight due to fouling with process lines. Can I mount it vertically inclined? Will it impose any problems in future? Please guide.

I feel the best person to guide you will be the vendor who is supplying the control valve, but as far as I feel, there should not be a problem with the operation of the valve nor the control. As long as the valve is operating, control will be acheived. But still I feel you should consult the vendor.

Since you don't say what type of valve, I will assume sliding stem globe valve. Yes you can mount it on an angle, try to avoid from 3 to 9 o'clock if possible otherwise any leakage from the gland may run down the stem into actuator. Valves are often in vertical lines which is after all the same thing.

You can fix the control valve in vertically inclined position but it is a liitle difficult job. This will not affect the performance of the control valve.
