i have been told that there are 5-element and
7-element drum level control techniques existing. it is also mentioned on the site,

i would like to know which are the 7 parameters which are considered for controlling the drum level.

I had heard about 3 element but never 5 & 7. May be if you are looking for 3 element boiler drum level control then have a look at Yokogawa US1000 controller.

It is never 5 or 7 element control. It is always 3-element control. Some people add some more parameters like density compensation (substract the rate of change of Stm Pr) & call elements of control. So what you know of 3-element control is correct.

These 7 parameters are:
1] drum level
2] feed water flow
3] steam flow
4] steam temperature
5] feed water temperature
6] steam pressure
7] feed water pressure

There is one chart for that where we use it. This chart is between pressure and density. We use this in program as y=F(x).

Initially we use single element control, then we go for 3 element control.

Hi,

Five/Seven element Frum level control means Three nos {(DRUM) LT, PT} {(STEAM) FT, PT, TT} and FEED WATER (FT). When all these measurements are taken then it is seven Element Drum Level Control.
