Hello everyone,

I want to know if there is any tool or tips to make a quick diagnostic/troubleshoot of a ControlNet network? I use two Allen Bradley ControlNet Bridge modules with two redundancy channels: ControlNet - A and ControlNet - B. The HMI indicates that ControlNet - B has an issue but I couldn't recognize where is it exactly!

Can I use RSLinx for that? And how?

Thank you for advance.

Hi,

RSLinx will not be much help to troubleshoot ControlNet, I use RSNetworx for ControlNet MD version which gives diagnostics. The other is to go back to basics and physically check the network. If your network is not too big, try swapping the A and B channels and see if the fault moves. If you have ControlLogix, then in RSLogix go to the IO tree and see if there is a warning triangle on any of the ControlNet modules. The status window below the IO tree displays some handy information that may help you. Also go to the AB Knowledgebase for some technotes and download some of the ControlNet guides.

Regards,
Trevor
