The formula for KW is

Line Volts x Line Amps x Power factor x Root 3 (1.732) / 1000

22 x 1000
-------------------- = Line Amps
1.732 x Line Volts

i guess your calc is not correct because there is Power Factor else to Know the Amp.

W= V * A * P.F * 1.732

i am sure this formula

Yes, you are correct, I had PF in the first line but missed it in the formula

Stephan... a simple procedure for determining the approximate rated-current of a 3-phase motor, knowing only rated output-power, kWo, and rated-Voltage, V, follows:

1. Convert kW to Hp, Hp = kW/0.746 = 29.5.

2. Round-off to nearest integer size, say 30 Hp.

3. Let input kVA = Hp.

4. Then, rated-current, A = 1,000 x kVA/[Sqrt(3) x V]
