Convert OPC into virtual Modbus RS232 Port

Hi there,

I am needing to connect a National Instruments cFP-2100 which outputs via OPC (RJ45) to a laptop which is running a specialist piece of software which only can read modbus RTU over serial.

Is there a way of doing this software based with a virtual COM port instead of a physical converter?

FYI system is WIN based.

Many thanks

The cFP-2100 has a serial port that can use different protocols. It is not limited to OPC. OPC is not really a communications protocol. RS232 is the protocol that you would be using to transmit or receive the OPC data.

Additionally, this controller has built in TCP/IP and web connectivity.
Modbus operates over RS232.

I have a software which is OPC Client on one side and MODBUS RTU slave or MODBUS TCP Server on the other side.

If You need a demo version please write to me:
