Damping in power cables in watts

I want to know exactly which formula can i use to calculate the power damping in watt across any power cable and if there is a damping factor and what does it means meaning if it was too high or too low?

I got to know for example that if the short circuit current that flows in a power cable is like 700 MVA and the cable does not dampe so much power the damping in watt can be equaling to 37000 MVA which makes me a bit confused. My question is if there is a formula to calculate the damping across any power cable and if the damping is too high like the example i gave does it mean that the damping is not so high?

Mohamed Rifaat... I am not clear about what you ask. Do you want to determine if a given size cable is capable of withstanding the mechanical and thermal effects, while carrying a specific short-circuit current?
