Is Daniels Modbus a popular protocol?..Do a lot of products use this protocol... James

IIRC, Daniels Modbus is just regular Modbus that has some fairly minor differences such as support for long integers. It may have native support for floating point as well. I never used it all that much.

I think there are only a couple of companies that ever used it.

It might also be called Enron Modbus. i think they are the same thing, but not real sure.

Daniels is used by flowmeters and the software that reads because totalizers can hold very large total values.

Enron Modbus (now Omni Modbus) and Daniels Modbus are 2 different versions of Modbus for flow meters.
