I need to to monitors data from 36 different RTDs,therefore i am lookin for some data logger that can do the job.

These available in the market are to costly tobe used. As my process is not that critical so i am more concious about the prices. Can anyone suggest where i can get such cost effective product.

Look at Red Lion. For 36 points you can log data for around $2500 - $3000 (not including enclosure, installation, and labor, of course). Start with the CSMSTRSX (this will log your data), and you can add I/O cards to it.

Other alternative is some freelance programmer that programs you a solution
in visual basic or other languaje.

The cheapest solution I know is Plantvue software.
But you have to specify the protocol (Modbus) needed to communicate with your equipment.

A license for less than 75 points cost less than 1000 USD. If you have already an OPC Server installed you can use Plantvue for free if you have less than 40 points!!

Consider using small data loggers which just look like USB stick. They are battery operated and one battery lasts for 1 year. The data can be downloaded to computer by plugging it into computer. They cost around $70 each. Below are some I have came across.
