I've made a dde link between monitor pro v7 application and excel. I read tag values from excel spreadsheet using FLDDECLI task. Everything works fine as long as both applications are on the same computer. Now I have to read tag values from spreadsheet locating on a different PC on the same LAN. I changed the DDE Topic and DDE Application fields to point to the different machine (\\PC_name\archive_name\file_name.xls and \\PC_name\Program files\Microsoft office\Office\excel) but nothing happens, however, the FLDDECLI task is running. Please help!

 

from the start run ddeshare

make sure the shares are created and trusted

also make sure that the NetDDE port 1111 is not blocked

try chat and see if you can make a call and chat from PC to PC

Does FL support NET DDE? Can I use DDE with FactoryLink to send info over the network?
Solution Provided:
No. FactoryLink does not support NetDDE. It only supports local DDE.
