I have faced an atypical problem with DeltaV system while testing redundancy checks. This is happening when I try to switch from Active to
standby controller (MD) and vice-versa. On OPS, we observed a bump of 2 sec when control transfers from Primary to secondary and 12 sec while secondary to promary. But the control side, AI/AO/DI/DO there is no problem and no bump seen in process. For 10 sec all tags configured for specific controller are blank on Operator station.

Please suggest if you have any remedy.

Could you please clarify the issue a little bit? Do you mean operator station when you mentioned OPS? What DeltaV application are you using to “see the bump”, control studio on line? DeltaV operate? PHV? Are you seeing that value change during switchover or just the value disappears for some seconds?

DeltaV provide bumpless controller switchover on input and outputs, that means that the field signal won't change during a controller switchover. However the indication on operator application would be interrupted for a couple of seconds, you can see that from control studio on line, operator interface and process history view. This interruption does not mean that the physical signal changed
