In these times of short range integrated radio/modems, i'm struggling to find a solution for a commercial licensed radio. I need to run a network with 30 Watt VHF or UHF radios and a repeater, A-B Rockwell PLC's talking DF1 protocol. I can work with 1200 baud, Bell 202 type of modems, just need a proven solution that works fine with DF1 that i can interface to a Kenwood commercial radio such as the TK-8180.

I am not sure what you are looking for but we have a number of 1200 baud Bell 202 type modems with an RS232 serial interface. If these would be of benefit please contact me at [email protected]

Take a look to www.kantronics.com. I have worked some time ago sending GPS data via UHF radios using its modules (transceivers). In the transparent mode any protocol can be transported at 1200 or 2400 baud radio links.
