Difference between House Load operation & Islanding system

> What is the difference between House load operation & Islanding system?

when generator is not running, the power to operated equipment to start the plant comes from system grid, thus you are buying house load power

If you startup and connect to the system grid, you are still buying house load power. if you have proper switching, you can provide the house load from you generator before you sell power to the system grid.

If you loose connection to the system grid and you remain in operation providing house load you are now an island system.

If an alternator supplying power to its own auxiliary consumption then that is house loading.

If an alternator supplying power to a network that may not have another source of power then that is islanding.Eg: CPP supplying its own smelter with out grid (it is just one case it may extend for more cases)
