Difference between Positive material identification and EN 10204 material certificate 3.1 & 3.2

I need one clarification.

What is the basic difference between PMI testing and material certificate 3.1 or 3.2? in material certificate, chemical composition of the material to be procured is mentioned. PMI testing also done to check the chemical composition.

Is PMI testing is required when material certificate 3.2 was issued.

Please kindly clarify my query.
