Digital Multimeter with Modbus RTU Protocol

I have a Digital Multimeter which has Modbus RTU Protocol.
I use an RS485 to RS232 converter to send the values from the Multimeter to PC.

The multimeter goes with a Software. The Software has a database in which the values from the multimeter are stored.

But unfortunately this is not working properly.
I give values to the Multimeter but the software recognizes null values.

Can anybody perhaps tell me what could the problem is? And how can I check it?

The first, can you give me your multimeter name, manufacturer. With or without load, recheck your wiring diagram, CT sequency. Sorry about my bad English.

MPR-53S by ENTES a Turkish company.

I know that when you use an RS485 to RS232 converter you must use HALF DUPLEX connection. Is this right?
Waiting your early response.
Thank you in advance.

The multimeter is MPR-53S by ENTES a Turkish company! I have read that the connection you must do when you use Modbus RTU Protocol is "Half Duplex"! Is this real? When all the wiring connections are correct what could the fault be? A Software failure perhaps.
Thank you in advance.

edit to add: I meant most protocols are simplex, which only require 1/2 duplex networks as a minimum.
