I am engaged in control systems for Generation Industry. We have a project where we are receiving a ABB AC800M Line PLC, CPU PM851. I am interesting to know if this kind of CPU will be on the market in the next 10 years. Anybody in the forum has experienced any kind of difficult in getting CPU PM851 from provider cause of lack of production?

All of the AC800M processors are directly compatible. You can load your PM851 application straight into the latest PM891 CPU with no changes (other than modifying the controller type).

ABB's stated position is that all ABB hardware and software will be supported for 10 years after the product goes into "classic" status. If this is a concern for you, contact your ABB supplier and get this in writing as part of your supply contract.
