I advise you to check if lcd display's resolution is good enough to show that barcode label. Since barcode symbols need very sensitive distances between them and thickness of those lines--check that with the specs of barcodes--and i am not so sure that surface reflections will enable handheld barcode scanner to read it from LCD display.
My advice to you is to just try to simulate this barcode label on a pc screen (simulating barcode label on LCD display) and then read barcode label by barcode scanner from pc screen.
If this works, satisfactory, as feasibility analysis then start this project. DOnt forget the resolution issue!
