Mitsubishi Electric do not recommend the use of Windows 2000 and will not support product running on this platform. We have tried some of the Mitsubishi software under Windows 2000 with the following results. Please bear in mind that we have not extensively tested the various packages and provide no guarantees that they are fully functional. The results can be used as a guide to likely issues and solutions.
MAC Programmer Version 5,Yes Serial only tested
GPPWin C24 port Yes Use special cable 2-3, 3-2, 5-5, 4-6, 6-4, link 1-7-8 both ends
GPPWin CPU port Yes Must tick 'MAC Transparent'
DOS MEDOC 2.3 C24 port Yes
DOS MEDOC 2.3 CPU port Yes Need to start MEDOC using command switch \...\medoc.exe F20
DOS MEDOC 2.3 via E terminal Yes Need to start MEDOC using command switch \..\medoc.exe F20
GPPWin via E Terminal No Needs further work, unable to test new cable wiring
PCS WIN ver 3 CPU port Yes No special requirements
Unlike Windows 9x, Windows NT and its derivatives like 2K do not by default provide direct hardware access, which DOS programs use to talk to the
serial port. There is a workaround which will install as an NT service and allow direct port access. Look on the web for a file called Vcool_17.zip, or contact me off list, and I can provide you a copy.
