There is vibration sensor (with VM600) fault during lightning strikes and makes the turbine trip signal. Is it related to the earthing system?

DC power supply of instrumentation is not floated and -12 volt side is grounded as well. somewhere is mentioned that lightning strikes may come from ground to the instrumentation system.

so whats is your solutions to rectify this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Tying things to ground without a plan can lead to more problems rather than less. Crow-bar protectors also can cause more problems than they cure. I would have to see a diagram of the installation. I once wrote an article for Sensors Magazine about transducers and transients that might help. You can email me at [email protected] if you are stuck.
