I just found my old, but by no means obsolete, JIC (Joint Industrial Council) and SAMA (Scientific Apparatus Makers Association) Standards:

If reproduction and distribution is not restricted by copyright perhaps it would be possible to scan these to PDF files and have someone host them on the internet (perhaps the PLC Archive?). This would surely be cheaper and more convenient than mailing physical copies. Some of these documents may be fairly old, but many people may still find them useful. Even those standards which may not have current applications would still be of historical interest if nothing else.

If scanning and converting these is a problem, let me know what you would like me to do to help.

Mike, you pose an interesting situation, that I now believe has legal ramifications. Therefore, I ask the following of the legal beagles on the list:

Would I be in violation of Copyright Law? Is there a "Time Limit?" Even though the offered material is over 30-years old?
