Hi list,
We have an intensive sparking problem in the HVDC alimentation bus duct of our Electrostatic
Precipitator. The sparks occurs only in one of the 3 sections (center section). The temperature of the air flow in the duct is about 55 C (about 15 C higher than ambiant temperature). We have cleaned every insulators and changed a lot of them. To avoid sparking we have to decrease the voltage limit below its normal setpoint, and of course the precipitator efficiency is lower than usually. Microprocessors voltage controllers, SCRs, ventilation in HVDC duct, and insulators are the same for all 3 sections (Inlet, center, outlet), only TR-SET ratings are differents (42, 55 and 77 kVA, each one is 500Vac/50kVdc).
It is normal to spark in the ESP, but much less in the HVDC duct, anybody has an idea?
