Has anyone successfully used Enron Modbus with the Modbus firmware in the Lantronix CoBox-DR1 Device Server? We are having problems and wonder if this is possible or should we change our strategy.

 

I have not used the unit with Modbus, but try this.

Make sure that you are running the lastest Firmware Revision in the CoBox. Version 4.5

You can get this from the Lantronix site, plus there in a Utility called DeviceInstaller there as well that will assist in loading the "ROM" Firmware file into the CoBox.

I have found that the Firmware was a problem with the UDS-10 that operates in the same manner as the CoBox.

We have successfully connected a TSX37 PLC configured as an RTU Modbus slave with a Lantronix UDS-10. Your application may be slightly different but if you let me know what problems you are having maybe I can help.

We did spend some time on getting these working together as we wanted but have had no problems ever since.

 

Set up the CoBox for standard serial tunneling rather than using the Modbus protocols. Match the I/F mode to your serial comms paramters, set the Flow Control to 00 and the Connect Mode to D1.
