Ethernet/IP and Wago 750-341

I'm trying to make small VB6 application that connects to Wago 750-341 I/O. I was successful in doing it through Modbus, but I can't use Modbus since there is existing Ethernet/IP connection, it gets disconnected if I enable Modbus. Now I'm at the point where I connect to I/O module by Winsock through Ethernet/IP but can't figure out how to grab the status of Digital Input 0 and 1. Any help with Visual Basic and accessing DI module would be greatly appreciated. I would like to stay away from OPC, do I need to run server to extract 2 bits from process image?
