Ever experienced wireless Arcnet?

We are using Arcnet protocol in our systems. Due to some project specific requirements, we are looking for a possibility of a wireless communication for Arcnet. Looking at various web pages didn't lead to any sufficient results. So maybe this forum could help us.

Any information is highly appreciated!

Thomas,

We ran into this same problem about a year ago. We couldn't find any wireless arcnet, either. But our project allowed us to go w/ fiber optic cabling. This allows much greater distance than standard Arcnet. We bought the arcnet-fiber optic converters from Contemporary Controls ( "www.ccontrols.com":http://www.ccontrols.com , I think).

If it's not feasible to run fiber-optic cable, you might be able to take it a step further and convert the fiber-optic signal to wireless.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Thomas,
You should post your question to the ARCNET email list. You can sign up at
"http://www.qis.net/~jschmitz/arcnet.htm":http://www.qis.net/~jschmitz/arcnet.htm . In reviewing the ARCNET email list archive there is an entry from a company who was selling a wireless ARCNET
solution (see "http://www.franken.de/users/mucosa/arccola/msg00295.html":http://www.franken.de/users/mucosa/arccola/msg00295.html ).
