Suggestions for possible makes of Linear Electrical actuator with Ex-proof housing having ATEX certification for Zone 2 (Gas) Zone 22 (Dust) Temperature class T4, Stroke = 300mm & Forc=2000N

We normally use pneumatic actuators for vanes positioning in air registers.

Our client asks for a pair of linear electrical actuators that can work in "master/slave" in servo mode suitable for above ex-proof environment

Please suggest any make for the above

 

Assuming you mean 2000Nm (1475 ft.lbs) what about pneumatic actuator?

A whole bunch of hazardous area issues are addressed by pneumatic operation

you have a point with pneumatics, that is common solution for most plants.

But i've seen plant where all valves used motor operated actuators, because there was no instrument air utilized at all. So the only choice would be to use electrical actuators.

it seems you are looking for actuator with fieldbus comms. What are you looking for, Profibus, Modbus, HART?

You also need to know min/max opening/closing times, this one needs to be calculated, and checked with operating conditions/limits.
