Hope you all doing great. I have a query and I hope to get the answers

I have a system with Windows 3.1 on which FactoryLink HMI version 4.4. I want to get its data on OPC. I have following questions in my mind. Please help me out on these questions.

1- Does it support DDE?

2- If yes, Which OPC Server i can install there, I think it will not be possible so If can't install any OPC server on it, DOES IT SUPPORT REMOTE DDE?

3- Will the window let me do it in this case (Remote DDE)?

4- Any possible suggestion to bring this data on OPC ?

Hi,

under win 3.1 this configuration won't work

- migrate to new SCADA
- upgrade to FactoryLink ver 8

or request solution consultation

FactoryLink v4.4 doesn't support OPC and Windows 3.1 doesn't support it either (you won't find anything associated to DCOM for example).

The first FL version working with OPC was ECS 6.5 on Windows NT in 1998.

Does it support DDE? I think so but I don't remember well. Your licence can show you this without problems.

Does it support Remote DDE (NetDDE)?. No, it doesn't. FL only supports LOCAL DDE.

It's time to go forward and replace the good FL!

If You are using FactoryLink 4 this means all graphics - ECS

By Your post I see that You are also using ICONICS

If You would like to replace system - please look to FactoryLink ECS graphic Converter to SVG format. https://sites.google.com/site/switchofffactorylink/
Iconics supports SVG.
And You are easy migrate to new SCADA platform.
