Hi guys, Is anybody still maintaining the FAQ? Could they please edit Bob's questions and my answers and add them to the FAQ? Thanks, Mario. ------------------------------- Mario J. R. de Sousa [email protected] The box said it requires Windows 95 or better, so I installed Linux

Mario, I would like to sort this out and make a stab at documenting my understanding. I can see a benefit to having a document available for comments. Would it be appropriate to use CVS for this type of document? I am madly trying to become operational with Linux (probably similar to the snails rushing around my garden) so I can use CVS. FAQ would be good, too. Regards, BobP _______________________________________________ LinuxPLC mailing list [email protected] http://linuxplc.org/mailman/listinfo/linuxplc

Hi Bob, Great! The more documentation the better... CVS would be a good place to put it in. We already have the beginnings of an FAQ in the cvs. Maybe you would like to augment it a bit? Hi, Bob. I'll just stick my head out of my den for a little while... >I can see a benefit to having a document available for comments. Would it be appropriate to use CVS for this type of document?< CVS seems right for a FAQ, as it works right for documents which can be updated by several people at a time (if not in the same lines). Ooops... You're not talking about the FAQ. If you mean a much changing document, maybe the benefit of having every version would not be so useful; but I think this would be almost the easiest way of having it widely accesible. Next thing would be a remotely changeable doc, via telnet + an editor, or some web tool. >I am madly trying to become operational with Linux (probably similar to the snails rushing around my garden) so I can use CVS. < There is a CVS for Windows, even a graphical frontend. The truth is, I have only used it with a local repository (no internet connection). Anyway, go and use Linux. It will only make you good. Back to my den...
