We have an application of sludge flow measurement. From the crude oil tank, after settling, the produced water (Sludge) is drained off by gravity to sludge catcher drum and from this drum produced water is pumped to offshore water injection wells.

Now for the current project, we need to install new flow meter between crude oil tank and sludge catcher.
The existing pipe size is 16" and material is Incoloy 825. The line pressure is expected to vary from 0.7 bar-g to 1.5 bar-g based on the level in the crude oil tank. Flow range is 132 to 250 m3/hr. Viscosity: 2.1cP, Spec.Gravity: 1.161, temperature: 10 ~ 55 degC.

The application is not used for any control/shutdown application, only for indication purpose it is used.

Please suggest the technology which will be best suited for the application considering the cost, size, flow, available pressure etc.

there are several methods commonly used, but hardly off-the-self, and not simple or cheap

 

I suggest you to use ultrasonic flow meter type with min 2 path sensor.
