Flowmeters for Measuring Dusty Waste Gases

Thread Starter

Hi to All,

Recently i am selecting between ultrasonic and thermal technologies to measure dusty waste gases produced by one Electric Arc Furnace, Laddle Furnace. Dusty means in this case, in some stages of melting you have more or less dust concentration (I thing about 150 thru 600 mg/Nm3).

The measuring will be performed in the dirty side of the duct system, upstream to baghouse; dusty waste gases without filtered.

The duct diameters are around 2-5 meters (about 7-16 feet).

I have focused my selection over two brands: SICK, FLOWSIC100 and KURZ Instruments, K-BAR 2000B.

Some guys have experience in these brands? What is better for you?
