Foundation Fieldbus Problem

Hello Everyone,

We are using Yokogawa CS3000 DCS with CP451 processor and ALF111 Foundation fieldbus Communication Module for testing our foundation fieldbus devices and we are having a trouble locating our device on the device pool and therefore in establishing communication.

So i am requesting you to help me in locating these devices and also to give me a detailed description of how to locate these DD files and configure our devices.

Further we are unable to detect the DCS on Emerson 375 Communicator and NI FBUS configurator whereas we are able to communicate with field devices successfully.

Thanks in Advance

Did you check if the devices did past the Yokogawa HIST test? See also http://www.yokogawa.com/fbs/Interoperability/fbs-hist-en.htm

Did you put the capability and DD files on the engineering station?
Just search on the engineering station on files with extension .CFF

I guess if you cannot see the ALF111 card on the segment the card is not active. Is there a system configuration in the system and is the ALF111 card configured and loaded into the system?

Sorry for asking.

Dear Zonderman,

We have configured the ALF111 communication module and it is visible in the System view.

We tried even tried to place(Copy/Paste) the .cff files manually in DDCFF folder in CS3000 Main folder.

It would be really helpful if you could explain me how to add .cff files through System view

Thanking you

Not sure what you mean by "locating our device on the device pool". Maybe "device pool" is the so called "live list" i.e. devices detected by the system.

If 375 and NI cannot detect the devices you must be having some fundamental problem.

-Are the devices properly powered up through a FIELDBUS power supply?

-Two and only two terminators in place?

Next,
-H1 card enabled? I don't know how to do it on a Yoko system

-I think you Yoko still use manual addressing for devices. Did you do that?

-Do device address fall with "FUN" and "NUN" settings?

-DD files can easily be found on www.fieldbus.org but you got to get the devices communicating first. DD is not required to detect the device. DD is used in the next step when you start configuration.

Cheers,
Jonas
