I am looking for suggestions on how we can utilize furnaces better during start up and shut down periods. Heat treatment furnaces are consuming energy in the range of 10000 - 12000 kWh/day. The shut down period is 24 hrs. when
the furnace needs to be emptied. During start up the start up period varies from 24 hrs to 36 hrs depending on the period of shut down.So during start ups there is high power consumption without any output till the desired furnace environment (temperatures) is achieved. Can anyone suggest how we can utilize the furnace better during the start up periods.
